Back2Bowen

In 2009 Bowen is expected to become a Self-Regulated therapy under the auspices of the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council)   and all qualified Bowen Practitioners will be able to be registered as “fit to practise”. The general public will be able to check the register to see whether you are on it or not. To be accepted onto the Register, you will need to have the usual qualifications such as being qualified by a recognised school such as ECBS, be fully insured to practise, have an up-to-date First Aid certificate (they are valid for 3 years), and have an accepted amount of up-to-date CPD (Continuous Professional Development) training.

Some of the major Insurance companies have approached the Bowen Forum for details as they are also interested in accepting Bowen as a treatment provided the practitioner is fully registered. You may have got behind with your annual CPD updates, or not practised for a while, so ECBS has developed a 2 day workshop to ensure that your skills are up-to-date.

This 2 day CPD recognised course is practically based and will cover all the moves and procedures you learnt during your training – Pages 123 and all the Procedures. The aim of the workshop is to enable you to once again be familiar with the Bowen technique and to be shown any amendments necessary to your work thus giving you the confidence to know that you’re working at the best of your ability. It is the perfect opportunity to refresh yourself, and  reacquaint yourself with those procedures you haven’t used much over the years. By attending the workshop you’ll be eligible to be accredited for Registration – the national standard of competency enabling the public to know they’re in safe hands. If any further updating is needed, you will be advised on how to achieve that during the workshop. This will be regarded as a “qualifying course” and is offered at a specially reduced price to encourage more Bowen Practitioners who may have let their skills lapse for a time, or have been too busy with other projects or family to keep up their skills, but would like to renew their Bowen work.

Please see our courses directory for the next Back2Bowen workshop near you.

ECBS Courses with Jo Lunn

ECBS
"Jo was excellent and gave me a great deal of confidence and well being. I felt ready and able to start practising after the four days...Everything flowed and was timed to perfection. It was like a jigsaw puzzle that all fell into place at the last day." - Dianne P

The courses available reflect the five levels that culminate in practical and theory exams as required by the ECBS (European College of Bowen Studies).

Successful completion of the training results in the Certificate of Proficiency, a recognised qualification accepted by leading insurance companies. ECBS is registered with and is a member of BCMA, IGPP and has professional links with the College of Chiropractors. It is also recognised CPD (Continued Professional Development) with the Physiotherapists Association.

Courses are carefully structured to meet the specific requirements of individual students. All courses are biased towards practical demonstration, allowing plenty of time for each student to fully understand and apply each technique.

The training format has been designed to enable people from all backgrounds to be confident and relaxed whilst learning the Bowen Technique and the courses are also fully accessible for those wishing to study the Bowen Technique to help family and friends or for their own interest.

"Jo answered all questions with knowledge and clarity. It was the most enjoyable course I have ever attended." - Felicty B.
