ECBS Courses with Jo Lunn

ECBS logo
"Jo was excellent and gave me a great deal of confidence and well being. I felt ready and able to start practising after the four days...Everything flowed and was timed to perfection. It was like a jigsaw puzzle that all fell into place at the last day." - Dianne P July 2008

The courses available reflect the five levels that culminate in practical and theory exams as required by the ECBS (European College of Bowen Studies).

Successful completion of the training results in the Certificate of Proficiency, a recognised qualification accepted by leading insurance companies. ECBS is registered with and is a member of BCMA, IGPP and has professional links with the College of Chiropractors. It is also recognised CPD (Continued Professional Development) with the Physiotherapists Association.

Courses are carefully structured to meet the specific requirements of individual students. All courses are biased towards practical demonstration, allowing plenty of time for each student to fully understand and apply each technique.

The training format has been designed to enable people from all backgrounds to be confident and relaxed whilst learning the Bowen Technique and the courses are also fully accessible for those wishing to study the Bowen Technique to help family and friends or for their own interest.

Pre requisites: Although there is no entry level requirement for attending the course, a good grounding in Anatomy would be useful. The course is taught referring to muscles and their latin names. Students wishing to practice professionally upon completion will be required to hold a certificate in Anatomy and Physiology (or equivalent) as well as a current first aid certificate and be insured.

Taster Sessions

Whilst you are fascinated by the Bowen Technique and have considered becoming more involved with it, you may want to find out more before enrolling on an ECBS course and becoming a Practitioner yourself. If this is the case, Jo’s ‘Taster Sessions’ are very definitely for you.

Constructed around basic principles, these two - three hour courses will give you information about the history, development and application of Bowen, along with career possibilities and advice. There will also be demonstrations of some of the Bowen moves and the opportunity to go ‘hands on’ yourself.

These days are not part of the ECBS curriculum but are designed specifically for those who may simply want more information before making the decision to go further. The cost of your taster day is fully refunded against enrolment in Level 1 of the ECBS course.

“I am very impressed with your back up and support systems which very often are lacking with other courses.”
Sally Anne P Dec 06

All ECBS teachers have been in practice for at least two years, have undertaken six months of intensive teacher training in the Bowen Technique and are fully qualified to pass on the ECBS Syllabus. Teachers also participate in regular training and social weekends that allow them to pass on new knowledge, build a solid support network and ensure that they are the best trained teachers of Bowen Technique anywhere in the World.
